Submit Records

Thank you for submitting observations of wildlife to the National Biodiversity Data Centre. Any observations submitted to the Data Centre will be added to the national biodiversity database. If the observations are for taxonomic groups for which national databases exist, they will be forwarded to the database manager for inclusion in the database. If no national database exists, these data will be held securely by the Data Centre and added to the mapping system in due course.

How to submit records:

• Preferably submit the records in Excel, Recorder 6 or MapMate format to the Data Centre at info@biodiversityireland.ie.

• A pre-formatted excel template is available for download Standard Excel data submission template

• Casual records (one or a few) can be submitted online

The Data Centre is working to assist the consolidation and expansion of existing data recording initiatives. So if you have observations for the following taxa, we would encourage you to supply the observations directly to the data managers listed below.
