Project to record CWRs in Mayo to take place in 2015

The National Crop Wild Relative database and website was established in 2010 through funding provided by the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine under their grant aid scheme for the Conservation of Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture. In 2015 a successful proposal was submitted to this scheme to further enhance the national CWR database by carrying out dedicated recording of CWRs in County Mayo. A gap analysis of the national database identified Mayo as a county lacking in recent CWR records. Paul Green will carry out this work between June and October.
