The work of the Data Centre is based on a thematic framework. This framework is structured around six main themes. These themes are:

National Databases and Surveys – biodiversity information

Ecosystem Services

Biodiversity Research & Training

These thematic areas are being developed by the Data Centre into an extensive data and information management system to optimise the value of the data contained in the national biodiversity database.
