Threatened Species and Habitats

The National Biodiversity Data Centre will give priority to supporting the work of National Parks and Wildlife Service as it relates to the implementation of the EU Birds and Habitats Directive and the implementation of aspects of  the Wildlife Acts. The emphasis will be placed on providing an information management system to collect and make readily available information on species occurrences within designated sites (Special Protection Areas and Special Areas of Conservation) and the distribution of species identified for special conservation measures under the EU Habitats Directive and the Flora Protection Orders.
