Speckled bush-cricket

Speckled bush-cricket
The speckled bush-cricket (Leptophyes punctatissima) is one of seven species of bush-cricket that occur in Ireland. Bush-crickets are similar in appearance to grasshoppers, but have longer antennae and shorter wings. They live in scrub or woodland, but can be difficult to find. The speckled bush-cricket appears to be confined to an area around Dublin and at different locations in the south of the island.
