#SpeciesADay aims to encourage people to engage with biodiversity in their own areas.

At midday, a new species is chosen and the general public are asked to record through Ireland’s Citizen Science Portal and also to share their photos through our social media platforms. We will also be having special weekend editions of #SpeciesADay focusing on themes like: Spring Flowers, Birds, Insects and Trees.

You can take part in the initiative by sharing your images on Facebook and Twitter using #SpeciesADay

You can also share photographs of biodiversity actions or habitats on your farm using  #FarmlandBiodiversity

Or email photos to: farmland@biodiversityireland.ie
