2015 Field Day with Recorders

Manorhamiltion, Co. Leitrim: 21st June 2015

Join us and the Wheeldons as they walk along their transects for the butterfly and bumblebee monitoring schemes.  Not only do you get to walk along and learn about Irish butterflies and bumblebees from experienced recorders, you’ll also learn how to monitor these insects and have an excuse to see some beautiful butterfly and bumblebee habitats in Leitrim.  The itinerary for the day can be downloaded below:

2015 Annual Field Meeting for Monitoring Scheme Volunteers

Glendalough, Co. Wicklow: 23rd-24th May 2015

For all our recorders in the butterfly and bumblebee monitoring schemes, and for anyone else interested in joining the schemes, please join us for a weekend of exploring some beautiful butterfly and bumblebee habitats across Wicklow.  Primarily based in Glendalough, the itinerary for the weekend can be downloaded here:

2015 Identification Workshops

Offaly: 16th May 2015.  Lough Boora Visitor Centre (Tomás Murray).

This workshop is aimed at beginners and will provide an introduction to butterfly identification. Weather permitting it will include an afternoon walk to identify butterflies in the field.  Places are limited so advance booking and payment is essential. Please register to attend here.


2015 Monitoring Scheme Workshops

There will be a series of workshops on the butterfly and bumblebee monitoring schemes in 2015.  These will cover all aspects of the monitoring schemes including species identification and use of the online data capture system.
